Grom Handling Kit · Honda Grom
Solid bars.
A front end that holds up.
AirTech for the fork and solid bushings for the bars, in one order. Less dive, no bottoming, and bars that stay put under hard braking and stoppies.
What's in the kit
Two upgrades. One front end.
The bushings sharpen what you feel through the bars. AirTech changes what the fork does underneath you.
On the fork
AirTech Series
An air spring, damper and bump stop that slides onto your Grom's fork. It firms up in the last part of the stroke, so the front dives less and stops bottoming on stoppies and landings. It also covers the exposed chrome.
How AirTech works ›
Under the bars
Solid bar-clamp bushings
A set of 4 carbon-fiber nylon (CF-PA6) bushings that replace the stock rubber. The bars stop wandering under hard braking, and every input goes straight to the front tire.
About the bushings ›Choose your setup
$48 for both.
That's $7 less than buying them separately.
- Standard Riders under about 200 lb.
- Extra Firm Riders over about 200 lb, or Groms with an engine swap (300 cc and up).
- Color AirTech in black or white. The bushings are black.
- Fits Honda Grom, all years.
- In the box AirTech for both fork legs, with soft jaws for the install, and a full set of 4 bar bushings.
Install
An afternoon in the garage.
- AirTech About 30–45 minutes for both fork legs, with basic hand tools. The fork lower is a reverse thread. See the steps ›
- Bushings A few minutes with one socket: lift the risers, swap the rubber for the solid bushings facing the same way, and tighten the two nuts. See the steps ›
Questions
Good to know.
Which stiffness should I pick?
Standard if you weigh under about 200 lb. Extra Firm if you weigh more, or if your Grom has an engine swap of 300 cc or more.
Will I feel more vibration with solid bushings?
A little. Rubber soaks up some engine buzz and solid doesn't, so slightly more reaches the bars. We've ridden 5–6 hour days on ours with no sore hands.
Does AirTech wear out?
Yes, it's a wear item, like tires or brake pads. How long it lasts depends on how hard and how often you ride. The bushings aren't a wear item.
I ride a Kawasaki Z125.
The kit is for the Grom. AirTech has its own Z125 version, so order AirTech on its own and pick Z125.
